On Monday, Oct 19, at 7 pm, an interest meeting took place for the New York City trip  next spring. The trip is aimed toward upper-classmen who are enrolled in classes in the fine arts department such as drama, choir, and dance, or planning to pursue a career in fine art. “This tour is theater centered,” says Mrs. Nicole Halbeisen,  who is the sponsor of the trip, and has been on many trips that Indian Land has taken in previous years. “This is Indian Land High school’s first domestic or in-the-country trip we have had and we are very excited!” She says, “all the other trips have been overseas.” During the meeting, Mrs. Halbeisen answered parent and student questions and showed videos of activities that will take place in New York City. The trip is through a company called EF Tours and if students decide to pay before Oct 31 the cost will be $2,219, which includes everything except extra things one would like to buy.  Students will experience two Broadway shows, go to Ellis Island, see the Statue of Liberty, and go up the Empire State Building at night. Students will visit different museums and attend a workshop with real Broadway actors! To see the video of this exciting trip click on the link below.
