Dumkele Idehen, varsity football captain and senior at Indian Land High School, is nominated for the Big 22 Player of the Year for the 2021 season.
On Wednesday Idehen had a lot to say about his feelings on his nomination and what it means to him and his team.
“Being able to put Indian Land on the map and show that we are important is such as huge achievement for me and my team and this nomination just proves all of the hard work our team and our coaching staff has put in,” Idehen stated.
So far this season has been something worth remembering the senior stated on Wednesday. He is excited and looking forward to what the future in football holds for him.
Dumkele said football to him is a brotherhood it is pushing yourself to new limits and building a bond with the people you share a field with.
“If anyone deserves this, it’s Dumkele. He doesn’t understand the impact he has on me and so many others and I don’t think my words could ever be enough to describe how much he has done for me and how grateful I am to have him as my captain and my brother,” Ahmarion McLeod, ILHS senior, stated Wednesday.
