Microwaves are among some of the newest additions to this school. Indian Land High School has six microwaves that are used frequently throughout A, B, and C lunches. Microwaves have received good and bad reviews, but opinions of the students are something to take into consideration as well. When three random students that were using the microwaves were asked three questions about their opinions towards this addition, their responses were relatively similar.

The questions that were asked to the students were “How often do you use the microwave?”or “Do you find the microwave useful?” and “Do you believe the microwaves pose a safety hazard?”

The three students answered “weekly”, “once or twice a week”, and “twice a week” when asked about how often they used the microwave. When asked about if they found the microwave useful, all three students responded with “yes”. When asked if they believed the microwave posed a safety hazard, the students responded “yes because some people think its fun to play games”, “no, only if you put metal inside”, and “They could if students don’t use them correctly”.

These students are only a sample of the students that actually do use the microwaves frequently, but generally positive feedback was given from them. Students seem to understand that the microwaves can indeed be beneficial to lunch periods as long as they are used properly.
